COWIE Group, which owns the Ford dealership in Blackburn, saw its profits motor ahead to a record in the first half of the year.
The group made a pre-tax profit of £47.6 million in the first six months of the year, a 48 per cent leap on the £32.2 million it made in the first half of 1996.
Shareholders will receive an interim dividend of 3.6p, up 6 per cent on 1996's 3.4p.
