POLICE are hunting two men with Irish accents whom they suspect stole a generator from a disused mill in Rossendale.
The men were spotted at the mill site in Commercial Street, Loveclough, by demolition workers.
They were seen leaving in a transit van with different coloured doors after being asked what they were doing.
Workers later contacted the police when they discovered a hired generator worth hundreds of pounds and a saw were missing from the premises.
Police had reports earlier that a red Transit van with different coloured doors, registration number F712 TFV, had been stolen from business premises in Stoneholme Road, Crawshawbooth.
Inspector Paul Robinson said: "We would ask anyone in the Loveclough or Crawshawbooth areas who has seen the van or the two men acting suspiciously to contact us."
One had very long black hair and was short and plump. The other had blond hair.
Anyone with information can contact Rossendale police on 01706 215242.
