A HYNDBURN councillor has attacked the borough council for failing to respond to his concerns over football pitch charges for junior clubs.
Coun Peter Britcliffe has received several letters from a leader of Rishton United Junior FC asking for him to help persuade the council to take up the matter of concessionary charges for junior clubs playing on council pitches.
Coun Britcliffe says he has written twice to the council asking this to be brought up at a leisure services committee meeting but has not received a reply.
A spokeswoman for Hyndburn Borough Council explained today that junior clubs were already receiving a 50 per cent reduction to play on the pitches.
She said: "Because of budget cuts we did have to put up our charges at the start of this financial year but junior clubs still receive a 50 per cent reduction."
She added that Coun Britcliffe would receive a reply within the next few days.
