IN SAYING a dentist is the only one to fit dentures (Letters, July 25), Mr John Hunt, of the British Dental Association, must never have had to do with NHS dentures as I have.
My last ones were the worst. I went back three times and told the dentist they were too big and resting on my jaw - all to no response from the dentist.
He said they would settle down. I had to scrape the bottom set with a knife so they wouldn't rest on my jaw.
It's the same with nearly all NHS dentures, with paper-thin palates and teeth that go soft and spread out.
I wish there was a dental technician here, like one I know of in Tyne and Wear who makes house calls and does not charge private patients £300 or more.
I WILKINSON (Mrs), Lower East Avenue, Barnoldswick.
