FOUR people were injured, one a year-old child, when they were in collision with a car on a pelican crossing.
Pauline Southan, 50, of Barden Lane was detained in Burnley General Hospital with a broken nose, cuts and bruising following the accident at the Sainsbury crossing on Church Street, Burnley, on Saturday afternoon.
Barry Southan, 51, of the same address, suffered slight head injuries and bruising.
The child, Matthew Southan of Tavistock Street, Nelson, sustained bruising in the incident.
Both were released from hospital after treatment.
Jean Richardson, 46, of Cobden Street, Nelson suffered a leg injury but declined hospital treatment.
Police said the accident was believed to have happened shortly after 1pm when a Rover Metro driven by Luke Calvert, 20, of Rosewood Avenue, Burnley, passed some stationary cars on the two-lane dual carriageway.
He was taken to hospital suffering from shock and discharged after treatment.
Police Inspector Alan Frangleton said the accident was still under investigation.
