THE St John Ambulance Brigade would like to appeal to anyone interested in learning first aid, or anyone who has taken a first aid course to help us.
We need new blood. Our membership has been steadily declining. But organisations requesting our services seem to be increasing and we just haven't the numbers to cover them all.
We need a transfusion of new people to give us a few hours of their time to learn first aid and new skills to help on the many duties we get.
No doubt you have seen us in our familiar black and white uniform at football matches, street markets, horse riding events, many sporting fixtures, in theatres and schools giving first aid cover in case of accident or emergency.
Can readers help by joining us?
We need youngsters aged 10 to 16 to join our cadets. We need adults with or without first aid knowledge.
And nurses who would like to teach nursing skills and help out professionally when required would be most welcome.
Please contact me on Padiham 772409 or Nelson 697788.
