UNFORTUNATELY, while she was on holiday with her family in Dorset, my brother's daughter's canary died.
To pacify Claire Louise, who is 11, her father said he would replace the bird with anything of her choice and, so, he was instructed to buy a blue and white budgerigar.
On managing this with some difficulty and returning home with it in a special new container, new swing, new food box, new water feeder etc., he asked Claire Louise to name the new arrival - and surprise, surprise, the name was Rover!
