A BATCH of stolen Blackburn Rovers season tickets have been found... after a motorist saw them fall off the back of a van.
The ticket books, valued at around £300 each, were stolen from a courier's van while they were being delivered to fans in Darwen .
The motorist handed them back to the club after seeing them fall out of the back of another van which was being driven by the ticket thieves.
Rovers had warned fans not to buy stolen tickets.
The club's stadium and safety manager, Mel Highmore, said: ''The motorist picked them up off the road and put them in the back of his car. He tried to stop the van but it carried on.
'Next day when he took a closer look he realised what they were. He rang the club and returned all the tickets.''
''We are delighted to see the tickets back and are grateful to the motorist for finding them.''
Blackburn Rovers and the courier firm are now arranging a special thank you for the motorist, who does not want to be named.
