BLACKPOOL is simply the best for loyal holidaymaker Ann Holt who has visited the resort some 62 times!

Ann, 87, from Rochdale comes to Blackpool as often as she can, sometimes making it three times a year, with whoever she can.

She said: "I used to come with my husband and children, and I've twice been with my dog, Timmy.

"I would take him with me to play bingo and then we'd go for walks along the Promenade.

"I come to Blackpool for the fresh air, it bucks me up.

"I always feel a lot better after my break and I have a great time."

Ann wrote to her local paper about Blackpool, when they asked readers to write in with their happy memories.

She was then invited to Blackpool's Town Hall to meet the Mayor Fred Jackson with her holiday companion Edith Sutcliffe.

Ann said: "I've been very excited about meeting the Mayor and can't believe how kind everyone has been."

When asked if she would like to go anywhere else on holiday Ann replied: "No, I love Blackpool, there's so much to do.

"I enjoy going to the Tower Lounge and the Ballroom where I listen to the Wurlitzer and I always come and see the shows.

"I've been to other places for days away or breaks but I always come back to Blackpool."

Blackpool tourism spokesman Mike Chadwick said: "We're delighted that Ann has chosen Blackpool as her holiday destination 62 times.

"We wish her many more happy holidays in our resort."
