THERE will be a 'ray of sunshine' in Morecambe this week as the resort's favourite son is remembered.
A plaque to honour Eric Morecambe is to be unveiled at the house where he was born in Buxton Street.
Members of the Morecambe and Wise Fan Club and Eric's second cousin, Michael Threfall, will be unveiling the plaque.
Then, the memory of their comic genius lives on in a tribute celebration at the Dome on Saturday. There will be memorabilia stalls and rare footage viewings of the two entertainers. Members of the Tony Hancock Society will also be there along with members of the Friends of the Winter Gardens.
David Miles of the fan club, said: "It's going to a great day, there's going to be a band Singing Bring Me Sunshine."
Tickets for Saturday's celebrations are available at the Dome.
