A LOCAL garden centre is this week blossoming with pride.
Bents Garden Centre beat competition from rivals in the North West to take the regional first prize title in the nationwide Ruxerly Rose competition.
Staff at the centre in Warrington Road, Glazebury, will now be rooting for their firm as it goes on to the finals to compete against eight others from throughout the UK for the national title.
The competition is a bi-annual scheme run jointly between garden centres and the garden centre association.
Entries are judged on all aspects of the plant area, including displays and quality.
Managing director Ron Bent said: "This is the second time we have won this award. We have made many changes to the outside area. The staff has worked hard and we have learned a lot from the positive feedback from customers and staff alike."
