POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a vicious attack in which a vulnerable deaf teenager was punched to the ground by a callous robber who then made off on his victim's bike.
The incident occurred in the Sankey Valley area of Carr Mill Dam at about 5pm on Monday, July 28. The 18-year-old profoundly deaf cyclist was riding through the area when the robber approached him, punched him and then forced him to hand over the blue-and-green GT Talla mountain bike (frame number WYF6ID968) before climbing on himself and riding off towards the East Lancs Road.
The attacker is described as white, about 17 years of age, 5ft 10ins tall and proportionately built. He wore white shorts and training shoes.
