A WOMAN who has devoted her life to the care of others was rewarded for her kindness when she got the chance to meet Prime Minister's wife Cherie Blair at a special reception at Number 10 Downing Street.
Ann Andrews is the chair of the St Helens branch of the Carers National Association and also looks after her 23-year-old son who suffers from a rare genetic condition known as tuberis sclerosis.
Her trip to London was funded by British Gas, who regularly support the charity, and she was one of only three representatives from the North West invited to attend the reception for carers from all over the country.
The invitations were issued by Cherie Blair herself, who has a special interest in the work of the Carers National Association and guests were able to talk about themselves and their experiences at the reception.
