LOWERHOUSE are to part company with their South African professional, spinner Corrie Jordaan, next season because they feel they need a batsman to make a stronger challenge for the Lancashire League title.
Jordaan and the club agreed to cancel his contract at the weekend, but that did not stop the West End side notching up another victory to retain their chances of finishing second, or possibly first, this season.
Jordaan took three wickets as Lowerhouse beat Todmorden by 22 runs. Nick Hope (88) and Chris Blezard (33) starred with the bat to set up a target of 152-5.
Jez Hope took two wickets and returned a tight spell of five overs for 35 runs as Todmorden were restricted to 130-7.
Lowerhouse were the only Burnley and Pendle team to score points in the weekend's matches.
Nelson set Haslingden 135 for victory, and, despite losing five wickets in last few moments of the game, the Bentgate side passed the target with three wickets remaining.
Burnley found Rishton's 165 too much against good bowling by Meyrick Pringle, who had earlier scored an unbeaten century, and Russell Whalley, who took the crucial wicket of Dale Berkenstein when he was on 51.
Colne lost by eight wickets to Ramsbottom.
