LANDLORDS were today warned to keep drugs out of their pubs as police vowed to clamp down on premises where dealers operate.
The warning follows a raid on Sam's Bar, in Higher Church Street, Blackburn, in which two people were arrested.
Officers recovered what they believe to be a quantity of controlled drugs from the premises.
The two suspects were released on bail pending further inquiries after being questioned at Blackburn police station.
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Neil Smith said: "The substance has been sent for analysis and our inquiries are continuing.
both people have been released on police bail pending further inquiries."
"We have already spelt out our commitment to tackling the drugs problem in the Blackburn area and landlords should be aware that we will take action where we know dealing is taking place."
Sam's Bar was closed following the raid but open today.
Last year the nearby Swan Hotel was raided by detectives investigating allegations of drug dealing.
Mr Smith added: "Landlords face stiff penalties for allowing drugs to be sold or used in their premises. They cannot say they have not been warned."
