RESIDENTS in a Ribble Valley village sent more than 220 letters to the council in opposition to a road calming scheme.
Ribble Valley councillors will hear objections from Billington residents during a Planning and Development Committee meeting tomorrow.
The proposed scheme on the main road through the village includes reduced speed limits, parking bays, a zebra crossing and mini roundabout.
The measures would be created to allow easier and safer access to a planned housing off Whalley New Road.
Plans for the development of the land by Holden Homes were granted on appeal after councillors refused permission.
The developer was told to put in traffic calming measures by the Government inspectors.
