RESIDENTS raised a stink when a dog loo overflowed.
A horrendous smell filled the air at Henthorn Park, Clitheroe, and swarms of flies came buzzing round.
Ribble Valley Coun John McGowan pulled the plug on the poochy problem when residents rang him to complain.
He said: "I went to have a look immediately.
"The stench was unbelievable and there were flies everywhere.
"There is no point in having a dog loo if it is not going to be emptied. It is a health hazard."
A spokesman for Ribble Valley Council said workmen had emptied the loo as soon as they found out it was full.
"A simple call is all it takes to sort the problem out, as has been proved," he said.
"As least the dog loo is being used. The mess is better in there than on the park!"
