THE principle of Western democracy suggests that the majority of the population will rule, but that fair consideration will be given to the minority.
Something is amiss. One particular minority is getting away with murder.
I refer to a recent report that there are now over two hundred thousands millionaires in the UK, many of them multi-millionaires with their ill-gotten gains salted away in numerous tax havens.
The majority, who are ordinary working people, and I include the unemployed who are casualties of this selfish system, are lucky if they keep their head above water while these parasites scheme their way through life harnessing the efforts of others.
Our new Prime Minister misguidedly believes that they will be the engine of the future prosperity of our nation. Nothing could be further from the truth.
It is the mass of ordinary people who keep going regardless that is the mainstay of any country. It is time that they demanded a greater share of the wealth.
