COUN Dave Smith, (Letters, August 12) says the £25,000 grant for minority languages was provided by Lancashire County Council.
Is he saying the grant was for these specific projects or were there no more sensible alternatives?
As I said after the condemnation of the 'metal trees,' could the wise men on the council, not have foreseen the public objection to the latest folly? The kindest opinion I have so far received stated: "They are like the waste product of a male bovine animal."
R BUTLER (Mr), Denville Road, Blackburn.
