AN EXPANDING high-tech computer firm based in Pendle which started two years ago with £500 and an Apple Macintosh machine is to be featured on TV tonight at 6pm on BBC1 as part of a series of innovations.

A TV crew from BBC Look North West spent the afternoon at Sub Net New Media's offices in Glenfield Business Park, Nelson, on Tuesday interviewing sales director Bruce Thomas and finding out about the youthful company's work with major clients such as Microsoft and Disney.

Among its many services Sub Net designs pages and advertising campaigns for clients on the Internet.

The firm, which now employs 10 people, will feature on the programme as part of a series on innovative and ground-breaking businesses in the North West.

"Our customers tend to come from out of the area," said Bruce.

"Not many local firms are aware of the potential of 'new media' and we often get asked 'why aren't you in London?'

"We are trying to encourage more local businesses to get involved and take advantage of the opportunities that are out there."
