ADRIAN Shurmer's and William Moore's remarks (Letters, August 11) on the hazards of driving around the Accrington and Rishton areas reminds me of the 1930s.
There were no humps, bumps, roundabouts, bollards or metal posts then, just a traffic policeman with white arm-bands at every major road junction directing the traffic.
No problem. Not so bad old days, after all.
F BILLINGTON (Mr), East Crescent, Accrington.
