IN response to the Livesey Resident (Letters, August 12), as one of the three councillors representing this ward (it now comes under the auspices of the Ewood Ward), I would like to reassure him that I and Coun Maureen Bateson and Coun Florence Oldfield are doing our utmost to address the problems of the people who live on the Livesey Estate.
Due to boundary changes, the estate has only been under our 'umbrella' since May 1 this year.
Since then, we have been in constant touch with residents in Heys Close, Cockridge Close, Fowler Height Close, etc. to assess at first-hand the problems which they are encountering.
We have also attended meetings at Livesey Community Base with residents, the police and council officers to pool ideas in order to make the area a more pleasant place to live.
I can assure all residents of Livesey Estate that we will be constantly at your service to ensure that your lifestyle is protected.
Coun JOHN MILBURN, Laxey Road, Blackburn.
