DEBT-ridden East Lancashire bakers Kenyon's closed down with the loss of around 160 jobs.

Receivers at the troubled company finally called time after negotiations to sell the business as a going concern collapsed.

The receivers, called into the company in June, said they had no option but to make the 70 bakery workers redundant and close the 26-strong chain of Kenyon's shops.
