A LANCASTER driver has come a very creditable third in a Champion of Oulton Park Formula Ford Race.
Nathan Howarth, 27, beat his previous best of fourth place in a Van Diemen RS 87 and is vying for a top five ranking in only his second full season.
Nathan's performance was helped by his dad, John, who enjoyed rallying in the 70s and now ensures that Nathan's car is in tip top mechanical condition.
"It was my best ever time and I'm really pleased with my performance," said Nathan, who was up against 22 other drivers.
"Early on in the season I had a lot of mechanical problems but thanks to my dad the car seems to be flying now. My racing keeps getting better and better and my aim is to one day win the championship."
Nathan is sponsored by Cannon Hygiene.
