I appreciate all your letters about the town hall fiasco and now that our MP Hilton Dawson has invited the Prime Minister to visit Lancaster surely we should be asking - what's going on in the town hall.
Mr Stanley Henig got such a colossal percentage rise in his allowances. I say the whole lot should be investigated. Over the years there seems to have been a lot mystery at the Town Hall.
The Prime Minister is against colossal rises so I for one will welcome Mr Blair. There's been no word in the Press as to why the town clerk disappeared? Plus Mr Henig's rise. It once used to be an honour to be on the council with only a small attendance allowances. Now it is £1,000s.
I agree every labourer is worth his hire but if this lot goes through then every ratepayer will suffer.
I only hope the Prime Minister will sort it out for the benefit of everyone in the city.
Fred Walker,
Cross Hill,
Lancaster.
