Chorley cane Preston.
NONE of our three local teams, Preston, Leyland or Leyland Daf, won - but the latter two put up excellent performance in obtaining draws.
Preston elected to bat against Chorley at Windsor Park and for a moment it looked like a prudent decision.

Six runs later Paul Mann was dismissed by the same combination for one.
Fleetwood and Lee Kearsley redressed the balance by adding 29 runs for the third wicket before the former was caught and bowled by Peter Deakin for 28.

Neil Walmsley assisted him by taking 3 for 25 from 9.3 overs.
In reply, Chorley raced to victory in the 30th over for the loss of only two wickets.

Battling Leyland.
LEYLAND put up a terrific performance at Fox Lane against league leaders Fleetwood to gain a losing draw.
The visitors battled first and were captained by their Australian professional Jimmy Maher because their new captain Nic Coultas was injured in the visiting inter-league side.

Kendal duff-up DAF
Leyland DAF experienced a long afternoon in the sun at Shap Road when David Makinson won the toss and put Kendal in to bat.
After they lost their one and only wicket at 17, when opening batsman Andrew Mawson was caught for six, Kendal's Australian professional Corey Richards and Terry Hunte dominated six bowlers utilised by DAF's captain David Makinson.
Kendal declared at 227 for one. Richards carried his bat for 104 and Hunte was 103 not out. Left with 53 overs to bat, DAF got a solid start when Neil Dasgupta and Antony Moore added 45 for the first wicket before Moore was lbw for 30.
Gupta fell with the score on 76, stumped by Moyes for 26. Stuart Catterall was bowled for 19. Duncan Catterall was bowled for 24.
The fifth wicket fell at 155 when Henderson was bowled for four. Richardson was then caught for 24.
The seventh wicket fell at 191 when Makinson was dismissed for 53.
Leyland DAF's run chase ended 37 runs short of victory, with three wickets remaining.
Looking ahead
NEXT Saturday sees Preston at home to Blackpool and the availability of a substitute professional for Blackpool might well decide the match.
The visitors' regular professional Heath Davis has returned home to New Zealand to play Test cricket.
Leyland DAF are hosting Morecambe and after last Saturday's performance against Kendal are capable of getting some points out of this fixture.
Leyland have a tough encounter against Netherfield.
