REGARDING fencing at Buncer Lane, Blackburn, blocking access to Buncer Woods (LET, August 14), Coun John Fairless' comments, that staff at Witton Park High School inspect the nearby playing fields and clear up dog excreta.
I cannot believe that any qualified teacher would agree to carry out this task.
I and my two children have regularly walked across that field and we have never had the misfortune to walk in dog extreta.
I must stress that I am not against the field being blocked off if the school think they must.
However, neither Coun Fairless nor anybody else has the right to block off the woods, a pure delight for nature lovers.
These are basic human rights and should not be taken away from people under any circumstances.
SHARON OSBORNE (Mrs), Gorse Road, Blackburn.
