A REARGUARD action from skipper Dave Dove plus an unbeaten 31 from Tim Monks saved Leigh's blushes.
They hung on for a draw in a disappointing performance at Northern, finishing on 164-7.
On a good wicket Northern amassed 209-1, Leigh's solitary success falling to Greg Dimery, who finished on 1-53 from his 16 overs.
Graham Duddle had little luck in his 10-over spell, finishing on 0-35. The reset merely struggled.
In reply Leigh progressed slowly, losing both openers, Steve Bailey (17) and Dimery (9) with the score on 28.
A partial recovery came with Dove (67) and Simon Birch taking the score to 60, before Birch was caught at short leg for a dogged five.
Dove and Monks took the score to respectability, Dove hitting 14 fours in his 91 balls.
Monks and Paul Pennington (13) saw Leigh secure the draw.
On Saturday (1pm) Leigh face Ormskirk at Beech Walk.
