A CHARITY boss has blasted miserly businesses for failing to jump on the SuperScan bandwagon.
Terry Barber, the appeal's fund-raising co-ordinator in Blackburn, said he was disappointed with the lack of support from local firms.
And he is once again appealing for sponsorship for forthcoming events to raise money for a life-saving MRI scanner.
Terry said: "There are some wonderful events coming up and I am grateful to the businesses who have helped. But generally, the response has been disappointing and we have not had enough sponsorship."
Terry is seeking sponsorship for the Pleasington Community Week, which kicks off on September 20.
A host of activities have been organised and every householder in the Pleasington area is being urged to organise a fund-raising event.
The Lancashire Evening Telegraph will be publishing details of some the events over the next week.
Other events in the pipeline include a fun day at Asda in Blackburn on Monday, which the public will be invited to attend.
SuperScan stalls will also be up in Blackburn's Victoria Court shopping centre on Saturday. SuperScan T-shirts, brochures and badges will be on sale.
Terry said: "We are now on the final push to raise the £850,000 that we need. It would be fantastic if we could do it by the end of the year. But we need YOUR help."
Any firms wanting to help the appeal can call Terry on 01254 202495.
