I WRITE in response to Mrs Olive Adcroft's letter (LET August 18)concerning Shopping in Blackburn Town Centre. Blackburn Shopping Centre is delighted to announce that, as part of our on-going Customer Care programmes, we have recently introduced a facility designed especially for Mrs Adcroft's needs.
Blackburn Shopping Centre now has wheelchairs available for hire and are free of charge to disabled customers and their carers. These wheelchairs are available from the Centre Management Offices and can be booked in advance by telephoning 01254 54455, or contacting any member of management or security in the Shopping Centre.
In relation to the distance Mrs Adcroft had to walk, having parked her car off Darwen Street, we would further like to advise her that there are a large number of free disabled parking spaces in the Multi Storey Car Park at the Shopping Centre, with easy access by lift on the Shopping Malls.
Should Mrs Adcroft wish to obtain any further information or be given a conducted tour of our car park to identify spaces which match her needs, we will be delighted to hear from her.
EAMONN FURLONG, Centre Manager, Blackburn Shopping Centre.
