THE funeral of Ramsbottom teenager Matthew Ramsbottom takes place next week as police await the final results of a post mortem into his tragic death.
Matthew (17), of Hill Rise, died more than a fortnight ago at Bury General Hospital after his life support machine was switched off.
Six days earlier he had been rushed to hospital in a critical condition after swallowing an as yet unidentified substance at a friend's house in Ramsbottom.
The family claimed that the teenager's drink had been spiked. Later, detectives interviewed friends who had been with Matthew.
The teenager worked as a joiner with a local firm.
Following his death, and in accordance with Matthew's wishes, his organs were removed for donation..
His funeral will take place at St Paul's Church, Ramsbottom, at 2pm on Monday, August 18, followed by burial at Ramsbottom Cemetery.
A spokesman for Bury CID said they were still awaiting final test results following the post mortem.
