TIM STREET found some new fans on Sunday.
The Leigh RL skipper was among a shunshine crowd at Beech Walk for a Summer FunDay organised for the children from Chernobyl.
And, after posing for pictures with the youngsters and their interpreter at Leigh CC, he and Hilton Park coach Keith Latham invited them to tonight's (Thursday) Premiership clash against Swinton.
The group will be joined by their Leigh hosts as VIP guests for the big match.
Sunday's party, which included Morris Dancers, pop music from Maureen Young, a soccershoot and a variety of stalls, raised more than £1,000.
The youngsters also spent an afternoon at Leigh Fire Station.
Local teacher and linguist Frank Halliwell has generously offered English tuition to the children, aged from seven to 11, who are staying in Leigh for the rest of the month.
And Tyldesley optician John Caldicott has given them all eye tests and is providing glasses free of charge.
