WHEN Mrs Denny (Citizen postbag, August 14) informs us that we shouldn't take any drugs, soft or hard, does she include alcohol and nicotine? Both of these drugs are perfectly legal yet they kill thousands every year. Cannabis has never been found to be the cause of any death.
If cannabis was legalised or decriminalised, as in Holland, we would remove the criminal element, create money through taxation and ease prison over- crowding.
Cannabis also has many medicinal and therapeutic properties that are well worth investigating, but what we must ask ourselves is this: should we really have the right to tell other people what they can or cannot do with their own bodies?
