RECENT correspondence concerning traffic-calming and future planning for our towns highlights two very urgent problems.
Bolt Hole Politicians: Commonsense and the right to free speech is a thing of the past, for these elected representatives. Even the leader of the pack has to seek advice from faceless individuals. So woebetide any elected representative who expresses the concerns of the electorate.
The brave face expulsion from the pack or, if they show signs of remorse, they are allowed back into the pack, but made to sit in a corner for a specified period.
Plug Hole Planners: Faceless people who cause mayhem, then disappear back down the plug-hole into the swim of things, only to rise again to cause mayhem somewhere else.
The removal of restrictive practices in political circles is a must and the faceless ones must be named if there is to be any hope of normality being restored.
