HOW could anyone possibly disagree with the recent letters regarding the humps and bumps foisted on us by a dictatorial council? Certainly Adrian Shurmer, with his vast experience as a police driver/instructor, is quite right, as is Mr Farrer.
I wonder, however, if either of these gentlemen could settle an argument about the chicanes?
As we all know, to get through them, one has to drive on the wrong side of the road, thereby putting one's car in a possible head-on position.
If there was an RTA at one of these chicanes, how would the insurance stand of the driver who was on the wrong side of the road?
If the insurance company refused to pay up, could the driver then sue the council for obstructing the Queen's Highway thereby causing an accident?
