BLACKBURN Rovers were handed an intriguing derby against Preston North End when the Coca-Cola Cup second round draw was made today.
The first leg will be at Ewood in the week beginning Monday, September 15, with the return at Deepdale a fortnight later.
With Rovers playing Leeds on Sunday, September 14, it seems likely that the home game will be played on Wednesday, September 17, but dates for the tie have yet to be confirmed.
Preston will bring a big following to Ewood and, depending on the state of the tie after the first leg, Deepdale could be sold out for the return.
Former Rovers trainee Michael Holt is in the Preston squad but they released ex-Ewood keeper Bobby Mimms in summer.
