RADCLIFFE town centre is a step closer to receiving a major boost with plans for a retail and leisure complex.
A formal application for outline planning permission has now been submitted to Bury Council by the Sale company English and Overseas Properties.
They are the prospective buyers of the council-owned Millbank site fronting Pilkington Way and want to build two leisure or non-food retail units and a 97-space car park.
If the application is successful a shopping complex, bingo hall and bowling alley could spring from the site of the former Mellor Street civic hall.
Three redundant industrial units would be demolished to make way for the 510m square leisure unit and 1,241m square leisure/non food retail unit.
