BLACKBURN couple Ron and Margaret Hayes were interviewed on TV when they joined the first mourners at Buckingham Palace.
Margaret said: "It's such a shame she died this way and it's a tragedy for the family and especially for her boys. She was so beautiful and full of life. We've come here to pay our respects because it's the right thing to do."
Ron added: "She seemed to bring youth and vitality to the Royal family. There were times when Diana sought publicity and times when she didn't. It's a tragedy that this was one of the times she didn't."
All yesterday's fixtures in the Vaux Ribblesdale Cricket league were cancelled as a mark of respect to the Princess.
