Clarets fans have their say

UP to now everybody has been kind to Chris Waddle but the honeymoon is most definitely over.

Look at the facts: Next to bottom in Division Two; no goals scored (a club "record" after four games); attendances falling (note how Preston's are staying up, even in the Coca-Cola game charged at £5 per head); only five ever-presents after four games; only two strikers at the club.

I arrived at the ground on Saturday to find out Andy Cooke was injured - that was a very bad start but the biggest culprit of the day was Waddle himself. He did not play as a sweeper, just an extra man in defence - we needed more in midfield.

I thought on Saturday tactics were ripe for a change in the second half but nothing was done, and not one chance in the team. Have we gone crazy? Brass at full back, sweeper, or centre back is a must for me.

Fortress Turf Moor - forget it. Teams come to the Turf and have so much possession it's embarrassing (to be fair the same happened in many matches last season too but we often got going in the second half).

I THINK Chris Waddle has got the defence right. We just need a new striker to get things going.

IT beggars belief that people down at Turf Moor are already calling for Chris Waddle to resign.

Four games is just not enough. All we've conceded is two goals. All I can ask is for supporters to get behind the team instead of this stupid booing at half-time.

And put £250 on Burnley at 20-1 to go up and let's get five grand apiece.
