A FORMER sweet shop owner who once got stuck in a supermarket turnstile because she was so fat reached the regional finals of a national slimming competition.

By the time she was 35, Janette Beswick, of East View, Barnoldswick, tipped the scales at 15 stone nine and a half pounds.

But thanks to Weight Watchers, Colne, and a large helping of determination, Janette managed to shed seven stones.
