GREAT Harwood CC have terminated Chris Killen's contract for "playing under the influence of alcohol" during Saturday's game at Blackburn Northern.
The Vaux Ribblesdale League club will play their last two matches without a professional.
Harwood chairman Steve Pilling said: "We have had one or two disciplinary problems with the professional over the season but we have sorted them out internally.
"On Saturday, he was drinking during the game and playing under the influence of alcohol which is not acceptable.
"It left us with no alternative but to terminate his contract and, on reflection, perhaps we should have done it earlier in the season.
"But we gave him a chance. For a professional to behave in this way is not only letting the club down, he is letting himself down more than anything else."
The Australian all-rounder has played for several clubs in the local leagues.
And this season he had achieved the "mini-double" of topping 500 runs and 50 wickets in the league.
