Bold Miners 26 Trafford 4 THE Miners claimed an opening day victory after struggling to find their form early on.
They led 6-4 at the break thanks to a Chris Anders try and Wayne Graham's conversion.
It was a different story after the interval as Dave Davies, John and Jason Travis and Gary Talbot began to punch holes in the Trafford defence.
Davies rampaged 30 yards to the corner and Wayne Graham sidestepped over.
A fine run by Mark Penders and a well-timed pass then produced another Davies touchdown. Trafford tried to fight back, but Nick Joseph went over for a great debut try and Graham's conversion completed the scoring.
Grundy's Excavations man of the match was Dave Davies and he was well supported by Jason Travis and Mark Saunders.
