FROM jetting off to New York to booking two weeks in Clacton-on-Sea, students at a new travel training centre are getting a taste for the world of work. Lancaster and Morecambe College is the setting for a new travel agency aimed at giving students a real working environment to train for a career in travel and tourism. The centre is open to members of the public as well as staff and pupils with full on-line connections to all major holiday companies and airlines. Principal David Roddam applauded the 'hands on' experience it will provide. It's run in conjunction with Unitravel of Lancaster. Director Richard Marsden said: "It's essential for the industry that people coming into the profession are fully trained. Students graduating from the college will enter the profession with invaluable practical experience."
