Leigh 10 West Park 69 AFTER two successful pre-season trial games Park made their traditional start to the season with a visit to Leigh.
And as a preparation for their opening league game next Saturday this runaway win was a waste of time.
Park moved quickly into top gear and Phil Houlton's try opened the scoring, teenage full-back Chris Glynn added the conversion.
But he missed the kicks to tries by former Hawick winger Paul Nolan and centre Carl Bibby.
A period of Leigh pressure brought a penalty and a converted try but a fine individual effort by Park's scrum half Ian Pearce converted by Glynn made the interval scoreline 24-10.
The floodgates really opened after half-time as new prop signing Steve Mannion registered a try on his debut, Glynn converting and also adding the goal to a try by Parks other front row man Jason Ratcliffe.
Mannion's second try was unconverted as was Glynn's try.
Phil Houlton's second score, one by Mark Potter and a second for Carl Bibby were all augmented by Glynn whose try and seven goals brought him a 19-point haul.
Other results: West Park 2nd 45 Leigh 2nd 5, Leigh 3rd 24 West Park 3rd 14, West Park 4th 29 Leigh 4th 5.
