A BINGO fan playing at a Preston club has scooped more than £100,000.

The pensioner, who did not wish to be named, was playing at the Buckingham Club in Preston when she scooped £100,000 on the National Bingo Game, a regional prize of £6,044 and the house prize of £238 after completing a full house in 39 numbers on Saturday.

But despite her win she carried on playing in other games.

Maureen Ellison, acting manager of the Buckingham, said: "The whole place was in uproar when I announced we had won the National.

"Everyone stood up clapping and cheering. The atmosphere was electric, absolutely terrific. The winner seemed reasonably calm at first after learning how much she had won and played games in the second session.

"But she was definitely shaking later." A friend will receive half of the money while the pensioner intends to treat her son and grandchild with her share. She works part-time in a hairdressing salon and has been a member of the Buckingham Club in Tithebarn Street for six years, playing there once a week.
