DOUBLE winning skipper David Hayes has warned his triumphant troops that he wants to end the season in style and not bask in glory.
Cherry Tree completed a superb double last weekend adding the Ribblesdale League to the Ramsbottom Cup with two games still to go.
But rather than lay back and accept the applause, Hayes wants his team to finish the season on an unbeaten streak that stretches back 26 games.
He said: "I haven't told the lads yet but they are as keen as me to finish on a winning note. But I'll be having a quiet word with them on Saturday just to make sure.
"While professional Naeem Ashraf has to be singled out for special praise, the whole team have been magnificent and have all done their part at one time or another throughout the season."
The bad news for the rest of the Ribblesdale League is that Ashraf has been signed on again for next season - and with 771 runs and 81 wickets to his name so far he certainly has been one of the league's star performers.
Hayes added: "We're delighted that Naeem has signed on again because he is a bit special. We all need to be on top of our game next season because we are the team everybody will want to beat."
Cherry Tree travel to bottom-of-the-table Settle on Saturday before finishing the season with a trip Whalley the following Saturday.
FIXTURES - Saturday: Barnoldswick v Clitheroe, Baxenden v Earby, Blackburn N v Osw Immanuel, Gt Harwood v Read, Padiham v Whalley, Ribblesdale W v Edenfield, Settle v Cherry Tree.
