PRESTON North End boss Gary Peters was understandably pleased with North End's performances this week but fans may feel a further kick up the backside is needed.
Admittedly home wins over Grimsby and league favourites Watford were magnificent - but with clashes against Burnley and premiership high-fliers Blackburn in the near future, supporters may want more.
Six points from two games is great, but there's nothing that upsets supporters more than losing to local rivals and that's what Peters must avoid.
Speaking after the Grimsby game he said: "We're pleased to be up with the front runners, of course we are, but we're not getting carried away, our feet are firmly on the ground and our first priority is to get the points we will need to stay in the division."
But after both games Peters wasn't prepared to talk about the forthcoming Coca Cola Cup matches against Blackburn Rovers at this stage and said his players would simply prepare for the next match.
Again we see a football manager using the old cliche "we'll take each match as it comes."
