THE death of Diana, P:rincess of Wales, has shocked the population as a whole, but I suspect it will be the youngsters of our nation who will feel the loss more than most.
In an age where there is a lot of criticism for the Royal Family and what they stand for, Diana was one of the few who successfully communicated with our country's youngest.
People could relate to Diana, what she had been through and what she stood for - she was real.
Diana was involved in charities close to her heart and the hearts of the nation. She supported HIV and AIDS charities when it wasn't fashionable to do so.
She also backed homeless charities and, instead of just sitting back and playing patron, she actively took part in what was going on, meeting homeless kids and listening to them.
Diana was a princess who obviously cared about what she did and knew what was right.
As our nation comes to terms with such a loss, all our thoughts should be with Princes William and Harry - after all, they are the youngsters who have lost the most.
