GOLBORNE are not letting go of their Bolton Association title without a fight. Rivals Edgworth took another step towards the Vimto crown with a three-wicket win at Little Hulton.
But Golborne kept pace, beating British Aero by 15 runs. They were going well at 104-2 but then Phil Hall 5-41 and Tony Settle 4-27 started to get among the wickets and the champions were thankful to Ewan McCray's 49 in their total of 140-9.
Aero looked set to complete a shock win at 95-4. But McCray had the final word with 6-65 and Aero ended at 125.
Darcy Lever kept up the challenge for a top four place by beating Astley & Tyldesley by eight wickets. Ian Robinson hit 46 and A & T looked good when they reached 95-4. But Darcy bowlers Richard Sutcliffe 3-20 and Jamie Taylor 3-13 took control and ended the innings at 135. Pro Jason Whittaker 69 not out and Jonathan Hayes 50 then led Darcy to a comfortable win.
