EARLY leaders in Leigh & District Amateur Football League are Higher Fold Village Inn.
They have stormed to the top of Division One, bouncing back from 3-1 down at Leigh Eagles to win 4-3. Geoff Myers, Phil Aldred 2 and Mick Blackley hit the top target, Clinton Andrews 2 and Greg Anderson scored for Eagles.
Atherton Tigers recovered from a single goal defeat on the opening day of the season to thrash Queens 6-1, Curtis Cooper getting a hat-trick.
Lion Inn LMP smacked in five at Rileys, Alan Litherland - who scored more than 70 last season - getting four.
In Division Two new club Ellesmere are early leaders, repeating last week's 6-0 scoreline with another six against Ross's. Steve Anderson hit a hat-trick.
New Inn Rangers, however, have 13 goals from their two games. Roger Bond grabbed three in Saturday's 5-1 win at Leigh Phoenix B.
